Zombi Review: Ubisofts crack at survival horror still stands up without the Wii U | Post Arcade

Added: 18.08.2015 12:18 | 11 views | 0 comments

Post Arcade: ZombiU was one of the diamonds in the Wii Us rough first year, but many said that the game which heavily used the Nintendo systems tablet-like pad couldnt be ported elsewhere. Three years later, and thats just whats happened, and Ubisoft has done a surprisingly good job with the port. Horror and survival games are on a bit of an upswing in the past few years, and hopefully Zombi will catch on with the crowd who loves to watch streamers on Twitch get scared.

Gamerant | Toy Soldiers: War Chest Review

Added: 17.08.2015 19:18 | 14 views | 0 comments

Gamerant Signal Studios has struck a winning formula with the Toy Soldiers games. Both the original and the follow-up, Cold War (read our review), were great games, expertly blending fast-paced action with the typically slow tower defense genre. Fans of the first two games have been eagerly anticipating Toy Soldiers: War Chest for quite some time now, but it seems as though the transition from Microsoft to Ubisoft as publisher has had some unfortunate consequences.

Here's what ZombiU looks like when it leaps from Wii U to PS4

Added: 17.08.2015 14:18 | 13 views | 0 comments

Polygon: Ubisoft Australia folk spent an hour or so last night playing a chunk of Zombi, the PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One adaptation of the Wii U's ZombiU, on Twitch. Expect zombie killing, running, looting, a smidge of the plot and a whole lot of screaming in the video above. If you're new to the title, it's a great way to see why Wii U owners were so enthused by the game when it first launched. Zombi releases as a digital download on Aug. 18.

Why I love: Climbing towers in video games

Added: 15.08.2015 8:18 | 56 views | 0 comments

David Roberts: "If you're playing an open-world Ubisoft game, there's a good chance you'll be climbing some buildings. Whether you're ascending the greatest architecture in Italy, destroying the radio in a series of barricaded towers run by a despotic dictator, or clambering up nondescript Chicago buildings and hacking into the ctOS mainframe, your goal is the same: Get to the top so you can reveal more sections of your in-game map. This design is so prevalent, it's even bleeding out into other developers' games, as you climb a precarious antenna to unlock a new safe house in Dying Light, or leap up a sky-high series of platforms in Saints Row 4. But whatever the reason, however common climbing towers in video games has become, I can't get enough of the thrill of the ascension."

GamesAsylum - Toy Soldiers: War Chest Review

Added: 15.08.2015 5:18 | 4 views | 0 comments

GamesAsylum: "A fresh perspective is often the best way to stop a series becoming stagnant, so we were intrigued by what Ubisoft could bring to Signals Toy Soldiers franchise. While its pleasing to see that they havent messed with the winning tabletop tower defence formula, they have bulked it to the brim with licensed add-on packs, IAPs and dreaded Uplay support required here to play online and unlock some of the more jubilant weapons. Suffice to say, these arent the kind of enhancements greeted with open arms"
