Game of Thrones - A Telltale Games Series: Iron from Ice Telltale's Game of Thrones has not just one impossible legacy to live up to, but two: HBO's adaptation of George RR Martin's Song of Ice and Fire, and its own seminal Walking Dead adaptation. At first it seems to have betrayed both legacies in the most embarrassing way. The action begins outside Walder Frey's stronghold on the night of the Red Wedding. You play as Gared Tuttle, well-liked sq...

Game of Thrones Episode One: Iron from Ice Review - PSU

Added: 04.12.2014 13:11 | 3 views | 0 comments

PSU: "A trademark of recent Telltale Games series has been making tough choices on the fly, knowing full well the games cast is not likely to go unpunished for whatever decision you make. If ever there was a previously untapped popular franchise more suited to this formula than HBOs Game of Thrones, I honestly couldnt think of it. A T.V. series that centres on peoples manipulating opinions to suit their own agendas and where the use of the right and wrong sentence usually results in someones grisly demise? Thrones is almost a perfect mould for the Telltale method of branching dialogue choices and deadly decision-making used to great effect in the company's recent big hitters, The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us, and here is the fruition of these two mediums coming together."

Game of Thrones Telltale PC - Episode 1 "Iron From Ice" Review | Gamer Headlines

Added: 03.12.2014 20:11 | 5 views | 0 comments

Those of you who are waiting desperately for Game of Thrones season 5 can find comfort in the scintillating and bloody Telltale Game of Thrones series introductory episode titled Iron From Ice. This new series from the makers of The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us, and the very recent Tales From the Borderlands will have a six episode run versus the usual Telltale five, and so far has done a flawless job capturing the majesty and desolation from HBOs series based off of George R. R. Martins universe. The original characters in the game are tragic and memorable, and the use of the cast from the HBO series (including their original voices) is pulled off remarkably. Choices you make in the game are difficult as youre often faced with decisions that force you to confront harsh realities, and like the source material from which its based, characters will be profoundly affected. The game is a fitting homage to the television series while at the same time being completely original.

Tales from the Borderlands: Episode 1 Zer0 Sum Review | Power Up Gaming

Hayden Waugh writes: "The people at Telltale Games have certainly spread their wings this year. The second season of The Walking Dead received nothing but praise and their announcement of an episodic series set in the world of Borderlands, with help from Gearbox Software, came out of left-field. As a big fan of the Borderlands games, I was right on this. Theres so much potential and a lot of good stuff at Telltales disposal here: humour, locations, characters, and guns. Lots of guns."

Game of Thrones A Telltale Game Series Episode One: Iron From Ice Review - Thejimquisition

Thejimquisition: "There was very little doubt that Telltale games, having more than proven itself with The Walking Dead, would be up to the task of presenting an authentic game set in the unforgiving world of George R.R. Martins Song of Ice and Fire series. The fact that Game of Thrones is getting the Telltale treatment is certainly nowhere near as surprising as the announcement of Tales from the Borderlands, but I must confess it had earned a significant amount of my cynicism. Aside from the fact that everything surrounding the game had been so quiet until now, I was rather disappointed to see that Telltale had used the HBO television series as a base not because I dislike the show, but because I wanted to see a cel-shaded take on the books, complete with Telltales all-original character designs. The imagination this studio has, being allowed free reign in Westeros, was exciting. An HBO-licensed game? Not so much."

Game of Thrones: Iron From Ice PC review - PCGamesN

Added: 02.12.2014 18:11 | 7 views | 0 comments

PCGamesN: "Almost two decades of novels, short stories, comics and HBOs television adaptation weigh down on Telltales Game of Thrones, the first episode of which - Iron From Ice - can soon be in your hands, or at least your Steam library. With The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us and most recently Tales from the Borderlands, the studio has deftly taken existing worlds, played with them, and made them their own while still honouring the source material. But this time, were off to a less auspicious start. The weight of George RR Martins fantasy realms is a burden, leading to an episode that is overly cautious and, ultimately, rather dull."

Game of Thrones: Episode One Iron From Ice Review - Godisageek

Added: 02.12.2014 16:16 | 1 views | 0 comments

Godisageek: "With Telltale Games Game of Thrones being so entrenched with the HBO television series, only read on if you have watched the TV show up to the end of season three. Spoilers for Iron From Ice have been kept to an absolute minimum in this review. George R.R. Martin became a household name to many when his book series A Song of Fire and Ice was adapted for television by HBO. Its success on the small screen rivals almost everything in the entertainment spectrum in the last few years. Telltale Games, with their recent successes of adapting The Walking Dead, Fables and Borderlands, are now turning their attention to Westeros and suffice to say, like the TV show, the opening episode is explosive."
