Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires Review Half Awake In A Fake Empire | Thejimquisition

Thejimquisition: As a longtime Dynasty Warriors fan, Ive stuck up for the series against the usual complaints that surround it. Claims of only ever having to press a single button, or every single sequel being the exact same thing are strikingly false, and tend to come from people who really dont bother giving the series a chance. However, I cant act as if Tecmo Koei doesnt invite these criticisms at times, especially with releases like Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires, a sterile production that runs on autopilot, cuts corners at every opportunity, and still has the nerve to launch with a bunch of downloadable content, most of which Koei has tried to sell before in other installments.

gamrReview's Jake Weston: "Fans who have enjoyed Dynasty Warriors so far are no doubt already on board with Koei Tecmo's iterative approach to the franchise - if it ain't broke don't fix it, after all - and Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires continues this trend by introducing the sub-series' strategy elements to the foundation laid by Dynasty Warriors 8. Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires Review | Hardcore Gamer

Added: 27.02.2015 21:15 | 3 views | 0 comments

Hardcore Gamer: "While some may not know it, Dynasty Warriors is essentially an annual franchise, especially as of late with the eighth installment coming out in 2013 and Xtreme Legends following in 2014. This is up to standards with the hackn slash series, but theres one game that needs to be released before Omega Force can begin their new journey on the next Dynasty Warriors mainline title: Empires. Empires is drastically different from the other two games, not in terms of the repetitively addicting gameplay, as the combat remains more or less the same, but in how the campaign is structured. While the Dynasty Warriors games have been criticized for reusing assets and features, all the while making only small adjustments over each release, Empires may very well be the defining example of that."
