Celebrating 20 Years of PlayStation: Favorite PS1 Games
Added: 11.09.2015 13:17 | 16 views | 0 comments
Phil writes, "Today is the 20th anniversary of Sony's original PlayStation. What started out as a partnership between Nintendo and Sony turned into one of the most successful brands in gaming today. I'm pretty pleased Nintendo dropped out of its partnership with Sony (whether this was because Sony was rumored to take the rights of all Nintendo's properties or not is up for debate, but doesn't really matter in the context of this article), because without that, the PlayStation brand would not be here today, and we would not have all the fantastic games and franchises associated with the PlayStation name.
This list of over 15 PlayStation games (they don't have to be exclusive) delves into some of the favorites that the lineup is known for. After you've read SuperPhillip Central's list, definitely jump on into the comments section to say games you found missing."

| Why Robowarrior is More Survival Horror than Resident Evil
Added: 11.09.2015 11:17 | 7 views | 0 comments
Carl Williams writes, "When Capcom released Resident Evil for the Sony Playstation everyone was cheering this new survival horror genre that was just created. The problem is, this genre was older than most people remember it just didnt have the name survival horror at the time. Sure, there were other horror games prior to Robowarrior but they were not survival horror in the style we know it today. Those earlier titles relied more on jump scares than they did surviving anything. No, Robowarrior took it to a new level and beat out Capcoms Resident Evil by more than a few years. Hell, Robowarrior even beat out Capcoms spiritual descendent to Resident Evil, Sweet Home, by two years and a few months."

| Nvidia GTX 950: The Cheap GPU We Were Waiting For?

RPS:
"Monster GPUs, 4K screens, zillions of pixels pumped per picosecond. These things are exciting. But are they relevant to most of us? When a top graphics card costs over £500 and arguably has an optimal working life of about 18 months to two years, Im not so sure. Either way, most of us simply dont buy that kind of clobber. Instead we buy things like the Nvidias new budget offering, the £120 / $160 GeForce GTX 950. And we buy them because, well, theyre actually affordable. But what exactly is life like at the more prosaic end of the pixel-pumping spectrum? To find out, Ive been slumming it with the new 950. This is what I have discovered."

| Destiny Update 2.0 Has Me Hooked Again

"When I got home from work yesterday, the Destiny icon was different. Update 2.0 had just finished installing, and the looming silhouette of Oryx, Hive god and Taken king, was peering out at me from behind the Destiny logo. My trophy completion for the game had dropped from 100% to 84% as the new Taken King trophies were added. It was then that I did a crazy thing. I ejected Metal Gear Solid V and put Destiny back into my PS4. The next few hours of my night were filled with a surge of nostalgia of the last year of the game, and exploring all of the new 2.0 update changes in complete awe." - PSLS

| 5 Ways the Creatures Stay Creepy in SOMA on PS4

By: Thomas Grip // Frictional Games
SOMA, our new sci-fi horror game, will be released at the end of September. Thats pretty soon, so I think Id like to talk a bit about our monsters up front. Before getting into specifics, heres a brand new trailer showing off some of the creatures that youll encounter:
When creating SOMA we wanted to try to make our encounters really disturbing. To do this our goal has been to trigger the players imagination in the right way. In horror games the most important thing is not what is seen, but what happens in the players mind. The player will always be able to conjure up far worse things in their imagination than we can do with polygons.
