Classical MPR: "I met Ryan Thompson shortly after Top Score began in 2011. At the time, Ryan lived in the Twin Cities. He's a PhD candidate in musicology at the University of Minnesota, with a special interest in ludomusicology. If you're unaware what that last word means, you're not alone. Ludomusicology is a growing field in which musicologists study the impact of music in video games. When I first met Ryan, he'd been working on a paper about the opera scene in Final Fantasy VI. Final Fantasy VI came out in 1994, and I was not a gamer in 1994. I had no idea the opera existed until I met Ryan. I invited him to come to the studios here at MPR to talk about the unusual musical event (for a video game), and learned a great deal about how the opera mirrors the plot of the entire game."

When you put this DLC up against a game as incredible as Arkham Knight - it just doesn't matter, and it should matter! Batgirl is such a fun character, and it's exciting to see old-school Harley Quinn too, yet this DLC is pointless because nothing of importance happens. Batgirl deserves better. Spoilers ahead.

"When Dishonored came out in 2012, it was a huge hit. People were praising its gameplay, art style and storytelling, and for many gamers, the title was pretty much perfect in every aspect. Sure, it had its flaws here and there most notably in the fact that its gameplay was somewhat one-dimensional despite trying to portray itself as giving the player multiple options but in the end, the overall package was a fantastic deal for every gamer that loved shooters, stealth games, RPGs, or combinations of those. Now, three years later, the landscape has changed significantly. Dishonored quite clearly inspired various titles that came out after it, and the different nuances of its gameplay were then explored in detail from all possible angles. In the end, if a game like the original Dishonored came out today, it would probably be a blip on the radar and wouldnt be noticed."
