Smash Bros. Melee was a much faster game than Brawl, which generally made it more suited for the competitive gamer. Masahiro Sakurai, the director of the series, has now revealed though that in the new Smash Bros. and in terms of speed, "he positioning will be really right in the middle". This echoes what he's [...]
As reported by Tiny Cartridge: Nintendo invited E3 attendees to hang out near its booth and receive the Animal Crossing: New Leaf home for Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime via StreetPass. Because of this, people were able to get a sneak peak inside his house. It's shown above.
There was quite a bit of Smash Bros. news in the past day, so I made this video. Yes, Smash Bros. for 3DS is officially known as "Smash Bros. for 3DS" Smash Bros. might be released at different times for the 3DS and the Wii U There's no cross-platform play in Smash Bros. Smash Bros. [...]
A couple of years ago, we heard that the 3DS and Wii U versions of Smash Bros. would interact in some way. Masahiro Sakurai has confirmed, however, that this is not in the form of cross-platform play. A player on the 3DS will not be able to verse a player on the Wii U, basically. [...]
Masahiro Sakurai has explained that the gameplay direction of Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U is: ...somewhere between the faster, more competitive style of Melee and the slower, more casual design of Brawl. Essentially, he wants to find a balance to appeal to everyone. Only time will tell if that's even possible. But at [...]
Takashi Tezuka, who has been working on The Legend of Zelda since its conception has confirmed that there wasn't originally a timeline for the series. They did, in fact, make it up later on. Ultimately, this doesn't change much in a practical sense, but it's at least an interesting bit of trivia.
Masahiro Sakurai, the director of the Smash Bros. series, has said in regards to the Smash Bros. titles currently in development, that: ...if you implemented touch controls on Wii U, then the GamePad player would have advantages over other players. ...and: We want to balance evenly across Wii U and the 3DS versions, so there's [...]
This is where I abuse the size of this blog's audience to be somewhat self-serving since this post doesn't relate to the 3DS. It does, however, at least relate to the Wii U. And that's because X from Monoliftsoft was one of the most overlooked titles at E3 2013 and I felt compelled to give [...]
Masahiro Sakurai, the director of the Smash Bros. series, has revealed that the next Smash Bros. game (coming to both the 3DS and Wii U) might arrive on their respective platforms at different times. This is partly because "the 3DS [is] facing some challenges in terms of how to accommodate characters that incorporate more than [...]
When asked if Plants vs. Zombies 2 might be coming to the 3DS, the developers didn't deny the possibility, which has some people curious if it might be on its way. Specifically, they said the game "will be coming to Apple first in July" and "there will be more news to follow, so please do [...]
Masahiro Sakurai, the director of the Smash Bros. series, has told IGN that there's "no plans" for DLC for Smash Bros. on the 3DS or Wii U at the moment. Instead, he's focusing on making the games "the best and the fullest experience possible". Even so, DLC is "the type of thing [they] could take [...]
The ESA has confirmed that E3 2014 (yes, we're already thinking about next year's E3) is set to be held between the 10th and 12th of June. As per usual, it'll be held in Los Angeles, but only time will tell if Nintendo will hold a traditional press conference like previous years, or take the [...]
In case you're wondering what to call each of the Smash Bros. games currently in development, it's quite simple: Smash Bros. for 3DS, and Smash Bros. for Wii U. They're not just temporary placeholders. They're the official, final names for the games. They might not be super-exciting, but at least they're practical. (via ign.com)
SEGA has confirmed that Sonic: Lost World is coming to the 3DS and Wii U in North America on October 13th. As covered previously, Lost World is an exclusive title for Nintendo platforms, and each version has its own, completely-unique set of level designs. You might at least want to keep an eye on it.
This relates more to the Wii U version of Smash Bros. than the 3DS version, but this guy has put together an image that compares the designs of characters in the next Smash Bros. game to those from previous games, and you can check it out after the break. The statistics on this blog have [...]
Pwnee Studios has confirmed that Cloudberry Kingdom is coming to the 3DS. The game has "procedurally generated levels", meaning the actual design of the levels can adapt to "player skill level, in game character abilities, and alteration of game physics". You can see an older trailer for the game after the break.
