MLG Columbus "not planning" to feature StarCraft II

"Folks who love SC2 have tons to watch," says MLG CEO on Twitter, confirming that Blizzard's StarCraft II is not currently planned to feature in upcoming eSports tournament.

eSports organiser Major League Gaming has announced it is not currently planning to feature Blizzard's at its upcoming MLG Columbus event.

The Columbus, Ohio event is scheduled to run from November 22 through November 24.

"Just so folks know--we are currently not planning to run SC2 at [Columbus]," said MLG CEO Sundance DiGiovanni . "Should that change we'll let you know via official channels."

DiGiovanni told GameSpot, "no comment."

The most recent MLG event, , featured tournaments in StarCraft II, Call of Duty: Black Ops II, and League of Legends.

"Folks who love SC2 have tons to watch," added DiGiovanni. "[North American Star League] is still there + [Blizzard's World Championship Series] isn't going anywhere. Game just doesn't fit into our [Columbus] plans."

MLG announced in June that it would stop working with Blizzard to produce the North American qualifiers for this year's second StarCraft II World Championship Series. #145;After coordinating on WCS America Season 1 and careful consideration, we have decided to transition away from operation of WCS America and refocus efforts on producing our own eSports competitions,#145; said DiGiovanni in a statement at the time.

Blizzard's own finals for the 2013 StarCraft II World Championship Series will take place on November 8 and 9 during Blizzcon 2013 in Anaheim, California.
