The folks over at Maxis have announced that SimCity now supports mods.

The news was first outed on the game's official website, which also outlines a number of restrictions that are tied to this newly added feature. As one might expect, "mods must not jeopardize the integrity of the gameplay or harm the experience of others," and "mods that affect the simulation for multiplayer games and multiplayer features, such as leaderboards or trading with other players, are not allowed."
