"Ready Player One" Film Adaptation Finds Release Date

According the IMDb, the 2011 video game and '80s-nostalgia trip Ready Player One was optioned for the big screen, and is currently set to be directed by Stephen Spielberg.

Today the film was given a release date of December 15, 2017. Ernest ClineÄ‚ËĂ˘â€šÂ¬Ă˘â€žËs novel takes place in a dystopian future where everything is tied into an all-encompassing VR system named OASIS, where main character Parzival lives much of his life searching for clues to a treasure nobodyÄ‚ËĂ˘â€šÂ¬Ă˘â€žËs sure is even real. But once he cracks the first code, the kid from the slums becomes not only a target, but a contender for the final prize: control of the OASIS itself.
