The game depicts a dark future where the majority of the races inhabiting the Milky Way are driven to unite against the deadliest menace of all: endless hordes of sentient machines devoted to the annihilation of all other species. These latter formed an Alliance trying to cripple the enemy by knocking out their underground facilities. This kind of mission is not suitable for large groups of units and the Alliance is forced to rely on smaller - but better trained and equipped - squads named Commando!
