Minecraft officially set to join Microsoft

Developer Mojang, and by extension the entire Minecraft franchise, has been bought by Microsoft for a not-entirely-insubstantial $2.5 billion, it has just been announced. The acquisition was rumoured last week, but has just now been confirmed by head of Xbox Phil Spencer.
