Like most history buffs growing up in the tail end of the 20th century, I've been strangely fascinated by the Cold War my whole life. And as a board game fan, 2005's Twilight Struggle instantly struck a chord with me.. at least on paper. A massive, sprawling, five hour simulation of Cold War politics, it looked to be everything I could ever want in a tabletop game. The problem, though, was finding a Khrushchev to my Kennedy. I tried convincing my wife that five hours of geopolitics and dice rolling would be a fantastic way for us to spend quality time together. It did not go over well.
