The alleged first details emerged from leaked casting documents codenamed 'The Institute' obtained by Kotaku, revealing that the game is set in Boston, Massachusetts.

Included in the documents are scripts and character profiles, which don't directly link to Fallout. However, several references to locations in the series are made, and the casting director also worked with Bethesda on Dishonored and Skyrim.
