Back in 2001 and the days of the GameCube, Luigis Mansion was surely not, at first glance, the revelatory launch title that people were hoping for on the eve of Nintendos newest console launch. Where was Mario? Where was Zelda? Super Smash Bros. Melee was delayed to launch window, and lo and behold, a ghost-hunting game starring Marios taller, albeit comically inclined doofus brother was introduced. And yet, for the oddity that it was, Luigis Mansion was a Nintendo experience unlike any other. Humorous, charming, with fantastic (at the time) lighting, effects, and a creepy yet fun atmosphere surrounding the titular mansion, Luigis Mansion was an effectively next-gen title that showcased the power of Nintendos little purple lunchboxerrconsole.
