Structurally, and despite its name, BioShock Infinite feels like a conclusion a representative of a pure, narrative-driven one-player game of a type being made less and less by large studios, and one of the last significant releases of this console cycle (the Xbox 360 version, which I played, is lovely to look at, but PC graphics on Ultra settings represent a massive improvement in texture detail and lighting). It also provides a conclusion of sorts to the BioShock project, although one should never say never when commercial concerns impinge. After a long development cycle and a marketing blitz, Irrational Games will have ambitious sales targets. This is a big game for Take-Two Interactive, especially after the failure of its second-tier publishing rival THQ: it is notable that the final, three-times-revised release date for BioShock Infinite did not slip past the final retail weekend of Take-Twos full year.More in n4g.com »
