Interplay buys FreeSpace IP for $7,500

THQ and Volition formerly held intellectual property; Interplay now holds space simulation trademark.
Interplay Entertainment Corporation, the former publishers of the Fallout and Baldur's Gate series, bought the FreeSpace intellectual property from THQ and Volition for only $7,500.
According to a court document on the , THQ and Volition relinquished the rights to the space simulation IP to Interplay, effectively making it the current trademark holder. The agreement was filed on June 4, but was made effective on May 10.
Volition developed both , Koch Media bought Volition this year.
