| Victor Vran Review | New Game Network

New Game Network: Diablo was not the first hack-and-slash dungeon crawler, but it is one of the most influential. After nearly two decades, action-RPG games are still using the same mechanics that earned it so much praise. In recent times, games like Torchlight and The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing have exploited the isometric viewpoint while guiding players through dungeons as they versed supernatural creatures and collected treasure. Victor Vran draws heavy inspiration from these prominent games, taking players through an eastern European setting as they fight vampires and skeletons. While progression is shallow and replay value limited, the combat makes the dungeon crawling fairly enjoyable for a little while.

GG:
Back in 2008 Psyonix Inc released what would become a cult hit called Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars, also known as SARPBC. While Im not big on the PC market anyways, this game had been unbeknownst to me until the sequel, Rocket League, launched on Sonys smash hit PlayStation 4 as part of the Instant Game Collection. At first I was on the side of the skeptics, could soccer and RC cars really work as a game? After a few matches not only did it work, it pushed Splatoon to my back burner of go to online games.

| Battleborn is Like a MOBA-Inspired Borderlands | XBA

XBA:
After playing Battleborn for just a few minutes the obvious comparisons with Gearboxs other noted work, Aliens: Colonial Marines, are obvious. LOL, not really but it does ape Borderlands in quite a number of ways which is both a good and a bad thing depending on how much you like Borderlands. Once that comparison has been put to one side you can see quite a few other influences as well, which the team are more than happy to acknowledge, as they have drawn on a bunch of pop culture touchstones and mashed them all together to create something new. Well, newish.

| (WGB) Shadow Blade: Reload Review A Mobile Port That Doesnt Suck. Also, Ninjas

Baden of WGB: "Usually when I discover a game is actually a mobile port my immediate reaction is to loudly scream, "NOPE!" at my computer screen, possibly while spraying tea across the room, and then try to wipe all knowledge of said game's existence from my memory with the use of copious amounts of alcohol. Sometimes, however, a mobile port comes along and somehow manages to surprise me, as was the case with this; Shadow Blade: Reload, which has made the transition from its hand-held origins (where it was simply known as Shadow Blade) to PC with some new features, including a story. After checking the game out I was compelled to abandon my own presumptions and give it a whirl. I'm glad I did.

| Why We Love Chrono Trigger After 20 Years

Chrono Trigger celebrates its 20 year anniversary today. It's a game that has aged incredibly well despite not being old enough to buy alcohol. The combat, the story, the music, and the characters all feel fresh and interesting even after all this time, and a few of the editors here at Game Informer got together to explain why.

XBA:
After the skateboarding nightmare that were still not sure we will ever recover from, in the form of Tony Hawk's Ride and Shred, it was tough to see a way back for the once beloved series, especially with the rise and rise of the rival Skate franchise. However, with Skate laying low for the time being and a return to Tony Hawk's classic Pro Skater roots, with nary a crappy plastic skateboard in sight, is it finally time for the series to come good once again?
