| Alien: Isolation Review (Strategy Informer)
Added: 15.10.2014 11:25 | 10 views | 0 comments
From Strategyinformer.com: "Never in the history of gaming have I been hurt so bad by a game as I was with Aliens: Colonial Marines. It looked like the exact game I always wanted, even right up to seeing that infamous demo (which I wrote a preview for), and then the game came out and my dreams went up in smoke (and mirrors). SEGA now has to pull something major to make me start caring about the Aliens franchise again. Dropping the 's', making one single unkillable Xenomorph, and putting it in a first-person stealth/survival horror title? That'll do nicely, even if developer Creative Assembly are entirely known for RTS'. Oh well, Monolith are mostly FPS developers and Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor was a cracking third-person Batman-em-up, so I'm prepared to give CA a chance. ".

| Alien: Isolation: A tense game of cat-and-mouse| SBG Review
Added: 15.10.2014 4:21 | 5 views | 0 comments
SBG writes:
Few films have inspired a generation of action-focused science fiction, both in games and other movies, more than James Camerons Aliens. While the titles inspired by Aliens are generally excellent, the ones based directly on that property havent fared as well. This is where Creative Assemblys Alien: Isolation comes in. Based entirely on the original horror film that spawned the franchise, Isolation is a subtler take on its source material and, as a result, manages to make more of an impact.

Its been along time since the original Alien movie came out and Alien Isolation pays tribute to the Ridley Scott classic film. In 2012 Aliens Colonial Marines was released and disappointing millions of fans around the globe. This time around, this game sets itself to be more like the first Alien film rather than the second one. The player plays as Amanda Ripley, the daughter of Ellen Ripley and is pitted against a single Xenomorph that relentlessly hunts the player throughout the entire game.

| Show of the Week: Alien: Isolation and the Alien Survival Challenge
Added: 09.10.2014 10:12 | 4 views | 0 comments
Outside Xbox: Alien: Isolation is very much an Alien game, not an Aliens game. Aliens is all about a bunch of gung ho marines bellowing quotable dialogue at each other and shooting things. Alien is about being trapped with a single, terrifying xenomorph and being armed with little more than harsh language. Told you that dialogue was quotable. This week, Alien: Isolation gets the Show of the Week treatment, and Team OX go up against the game's survival mode to see who is the best at not getting eaten by aliens.
