Alien not Aliens: Why Isolation is the right move

TechRaptor - Last year I played through Aliens: Colonial Marines. Like many out there I hated the game; as a shooter it was unrefined and boring, as an Aliens game it was awful. It felt like it was made by a team who had never watched the James Cameron classic and who had no understanding of the Alien universe. This was made even more upsetting due to the expectations created by misleading pre-release footage, and the developer constantly professing a love and respect for the franchise.

WC - The Alien has had quite a rough time throughout its now over 30 year career. The creature made a huge impact on the world with the release of Ridley Scotts sci-fi horror masterpiece Alien in 1979. Not only did it introduce audiences to one of the most terrifying and uniquely designed creatures ever created, but it influenced the aesthetics and atmosphere of countless science fiction films to come. The franchise continued to deliver cinematic excellence with the 1986 sequel Aliens, directed by the king of the world himself James Cameron. Aliens gave audiences a different experience, focusing more on intense action, while also exploring Ellen Ripley in a more personal way. The Alien franchise was on a roll at this point, ingraining itself into the public consciousness as one of the best science fiction franchises around.

| Is Alien: Isolation A Risk?

Sean from Pixel Gate writes:
Alien: Isolation has been unofficially tasked with wiping away the dirt that was Colonial Marines. Theres seems to be a stark difference between the tones of Isolation and Colonial Marines, in the same way that Alien and Aliens were utterly different. Isolation isnt playing it safe however. Survival horror is a slowly dying genre, only kept on life support by mostly indie developers and nostalgia, and in the grand scheme of things it is seen as something of a niche market. In that regard, theres an element of risk to Isolations concept

Welcome to this guide for the Extinction mode playlist found on Call Of Duty Ghosts."

OnlySP: Aliens: Colonial Marines was one of my most anticipated titles of all time. I had been waiting for so long for a good Aliens game, and for those of you that follow the site, you know how big of a disappointment that was. For anyone to take up the Alien IP, itll involve a lot of digging to get out of a hole that Gearbox dug with the release of Colonial Marines. Alien: Isolation looks to escape that hole and give fans a game theyve been asking for.
