Update 2: As of 4:13 PM PDT, The Xbox Live status page now lists the only affected gaming and social services as unlocking achievements, suggesting the sign-in issues have (at least temporarily) been resolved. A support tweet adds, "Sign in across devices should be back to normal."

However, issues with buying downloadable items has since been added to the status page's alert list, and there remain reports of those (myself included) who are unable to play certain digital games.

Update: Today's issues are also impacting Xbox Live members' ability to play at least certain games, including .

SCS Software have recently released the 1.19 update for Euro Truck Simulator 2 after initially testing the update with the recent short-lived open beta. The new update adds two new Hungarian cities Pécs and Szeged which are now part of the ever expanding Going East! content. Another major feature of the 1.19 update has to be the Mod Manager which has been included to help with previewing and organising modded content.

Impulse Gamer: Firstly this game is for kids but more importantly it is based on the original comic and cartoon series that has seen the Smurf village vanish. As a results the Smurfs must rebuild their village by not only gathering resources but also creating buildings via some amusing mini-games. Another highlight of the game is when you create your village, it is dictated by the player in terms of some of its placement and appearance which allows you to unleash your own colour palette. Smurfs also has this social media feel to it and the controls work relatively well on the 3DS, especially with the inclusion of the stylus and even the microphone for mini-games.

Xbox fans can watch Microsoft's Gamescom press conference live on Aug 4 via Xbox Live, the platform holder has announced.
