Remembering the Classics: Final Fantasy VII

Added: 22.06.2015 8:15 | 6 views | 0 comments

Pop-break: "When I first began this column way back in April 2013, I knew that eventually I would write a post about my all-time favorite game. I wasnt exactly in a rush to do it, to be honest. The entire purpose of this column is to connect the game/series/franchise in focus to a bit of news that connects with it. Fortunately Ive been able to follow this method on a weekly basis ever since and have never needed to write something up for the sake of content. This meant that Ive had my personal top game on the back burner since the beginning, willing to dish it out if necessary but ideally keeping it back until its actually relevant. The ideal situation was a guarantee too, because if theres one game that will never leave the public consciousness, its Final Fantasy VII."

15 Essential Facts You Gotta Know About Star Wars: Battlefront

Added: 09.06.2015 23:05 | 9 views | 0 comments

1. Playable "Heroes"

The upcoming installment of the next Star Wars game will let you play as a handful of "hero" characters. Darth Vader and Bobba Fett are some of the original trilogy players that can be unlocked.

2. No prequel era

Don't expect to see many call-backs to the prequel trilogy. It's obvious that the developers of Star Wars: Battlefront are keeping their focus on the original trilogy and the future of the franchise.

3. No Campaign Mode

Star Wars: Battlefront will be without one major gaming mode when it's released: a single player campaign. Bummer? Kinda, yeah. But if you like to play alone, there's an offline solo mode to hone your skills in.

4. 40-player battles will be epic

One of the improved gameplay features is huge battles that will involve up to 40 players. You'll feel like you're actually in the Star Wars universe!

5. Fly high

TIE fighters, X-wings and the majestic beast that made the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs, the Millennium Falcon, are all flyable crafts in Star Wars: Battlefront.

6. Bon voyage, space battles

Space battles from Star Wars: Battlefront II are a thing of the past. Too bad, right? You'll be stuck to planet-based battles in this installment.

7. Release date confirmed

The anticipation for all-new Star Wars content is keeping us on the edge of our seats, but the wait is almost over. Battlefront will be released on PS4 and Xbox One on Nov. 19.

8. Crafted missions

With a lack of campaign mode in Battlefront, the game will focus instead on crafted missions. These missions can be played alone, online co-op or a split screen.

9. Star Wars: Battlefront looks gorgeous

The trailer that dropped at the Star Wars Celebration in April used actual game footage in tease. The worlds of Endor and Hoth look as good as any next-gen game around.

10. Four planets confirmed

A handful of familiar worlds will be gracing the gameplay of Star Wars: Battlefront. Endor, Hoth and Tattoine return from the original trilogy, while a new world Sullust will be introduced.

11. Equal opportunity Stroomtroopers

According to the game's developers, you're able to play as a male or female stormtrooper in the upcoming edition.

12. Hop on and destroy

Not only have the locations for the battles in Star Wars: Battlefront been revealed, so have the vehicles you can ascertain while battling. On Endor, gamers can hop on speed bikes and AT-ATs. On Hoth, try riding a snow speeder.

13. First AND third person mode

Gamers will have their druthers when it comes to which style of shooter they want to play as. You'll be able to switch freely between first and third person view.

14. Free DLC

Die-hard Star Wars fans can get their fix on a new planet by preordering Battlefront. If you do, you'll get the Battle of Jakku DLC a week earlier than the Dec. 8 release.

15. Everyone's favorite droids will make an appearance

R2-D2 and C-3PO will continue to be a major influence in all of Star Wars, and that includes video games. The droids will reportedly have some kind of role in Battlefront.
