Multiplayer Opinion: Splinter Cell Blacklist

Added: 07.09.2013 4:18 | 9 views | 0 comments

iLLGaming writer,S.Arora writes: "Round 1, I was thrown into a level called Cartel. The brief said that a town fest had seriously gone wrong and two factions were fighting over a piece of intel. I have been away from the Spies vs Mercs mode in Splinter Cell: Conviction for more than two years now and I knew I was losing it already. When I was spawned I could see a whole town magnified in front of me, in the First Person perspective. Of course I was assigned as a heavy duty Merc with a partner, oh I was playing the Classic Spies vs Mercs mode that is brought back into Splinter Cell: Blacklist from its precursor Conviction. I accidentally pressed my Up Arrow key in the PS3 controller and the glowing torch light shut off by its own, leaving me alone in the darkness, as my partner had nearly vanished inside the level. I was scared. Simply because my previous experiences with Splinter Cell: Spies vs Mercs werent that good, as every now and then Id get stabbed from right, left and up...

Starting just after the ending of the original Killzone, and revisiting many of the events from the Killzone trilogy, the game puts players in the rugged combat boots of a mercenary named Arran Danner. Joystiq- Killzone Mercenary Review

Added: 04.09.2013 13:18 | 18 views | 0 comments

JS:From a superficial perspective, Killzone: Mercenary is about as rote a shooter as you'll find. It stars former soldier Arran Danner who has opted for a more lucrative life as a mercenary, battling the Helghast invasion as part of the Phantom Talon Corporation. This sets the plot up for many cliché twists and overwrought scenes of dramatic betrayal that players will see coming miles away. And yet, despite its tired storytelling, Killzone: Mercenary largely succeeds by focusing on the sort of well-polished, frenetic first-person shooter gameplay rarely see on the PlayStation Vita (though not for lack of trying).

Review: Killzone Mercenary (PS Vita)

Cashing in?

You’re Arran Danner, hired gun with an awful name, but surprisingly not Mercenary’s worst – that honour belongs to the inimitably gung-ho beefcake, Anders Benoit. As the name of your profession suggests you switch between ISA and Helghan forces, but Mercenary never makes anything of the potential this structure offers.

Its short 4-hour campaign could have been an interesting to-and-fro between perspectives, but instead it plods along with unambitious missions and a series of crowbarred plot developments that have no weight. The characters are flat, and although the game...

Killzone Mercenary Preview | RealGamerNewz

Added: 27.08.2013 4:18 | 19 views | 0 comments

Pwnagraphic of RealGamerNewz writes, "Killzone: Mercenary is an upcoming First Person Shooter coming to the PS Vita giving you the power to merk, pun intended, people in the palm of your hands much like you do any time you play a FPS. KZ: Mercenary takes place right after the original KZ, but before the sequels on the PS3. You play as Arran Danner as the war leaves Vekter and heads to the Helghan home front. If you are a fan of the series, this game wont disappoint you. Once you adjust to playing on such a small screen, the game starts to feel much like its PS3 cousin and is beautiful looking too. The online Multiplayer still carries over a lot of familiarity from KZ2 and KZ3 with 8 multiplayer modes where you can score cash to upgrade your weapons and rank. The engine of the game is amazing and really pushes the Vitas capability almost to PS3 level graphics."
