In 2002, the Battlefield series exploded onto PCs with the launch of one of the most critically acclaimed shooter of all time. Battlefield 1942 changed the scene of first person shooters and brought about a new era of large scale, multiplayer combat. Beaten only by Medal of Honor, many games from Brothers in Arms to Call of Duty followed suit to bring about the age of WWII shooters. But with trend of modern/futuristic shooters, a new generation of consoles and PCs more powerful than ever, now is the time for Battlefield to return to WWII and bring the series home. So is it time to go back?
