Blackpowder Games has decided to make a major change to the visuals of their 17th century shooter Betrayer. The second major update for the game gives players the option to add color to the normally black-and-white graphics of the game.

Developer Blackpowder Games issued an update for its black and white shooter Betrayer. Its most altering change is the addition of a color slider in the first person shooter that does away with the black and white atmosphere. Some screenshots are provided.

Betrayer is a first person adventure game being developed by Blackpowder Games taking place in the 17th century in which you shipwreck on the coast of Virgina. Strangely enough the world is drained of color except for the occasional bright red for emphasis. The Escapist: "Blackpowder Games did things a little backwards with Betrayer. Development started on the game in September 2012, months before the studio itself was officially founded. In 2013, Blackpowder was finally formed around the in-development Betrayer. This approach allowed the team to "put creative control above everything else." Developer Blackpowder Games was formed from the remnants of Monolith, but Betrayer is very different to F.E.A.R. or anything else that studio made. Sure, its also frightening at times, but in a completely different way. Betrayer doesnt go for jump scares as much as it sets out to unsettle you.
