This Week In Imports: Dragon Quest Goes Dynasty Warriors

Dragon Quest Heroes, a mashup of Square Enixs RPG series with Dynasty Warriors style gameplay, makes its debut in Japan this week. This will be the first Dragon Quest title for PlayStation since 2006 when Dragon Quest Final Fantasy in Fortune Street Portable came out for PSP and a roguelike spinoff starring a young Yangus came out for PS2. Considering how well Hyrule Warriors did, Dragon Quest Heroes should be a huge release in Japan.
A bunch of Japanese games will arrive in the West this week including French Bread fighter Under Night In-Birth Exe: Late, Stings strategy RPG Hyperdevotion Noire: Goddess Black Heart, htoL#NiQ: The Firefly Diary, and Dragon Ball Xenoverse.

Adam writes "Small Doujin developer French Bread has finally made its way westward with Under Night In-Birth EXE: Late on the PS3. A 2D fighter that has been out in Japan for a few months now.
Is this game a night to remember or should you forget about it the next day. Find out in this episode of The Game Machine."

From Arc System Works and Melty Blood developer French Bread comes Under Night In-Birth EXE Late, a sort of spiritual successor to Melty Blood and one fans of niche anime fighters should enjoy.

Push Square: "Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late achieves an ease of entry to allow newer players to experience and immerse themselves in traditional 2D fighting action, without sacrificing depth in the higher tiers of gameplay. But more importantly, it's all overwhelmingly satisfying to play. French Bread understands fighting games exceptionally well, that much is very clear and it's managed to put pressure on all of the right spots."

TouchArcade: While Angry Birds might be totally out of style these days, it's nuts to go back and look at how much content has been added to these games over the years. Still available for a buck, Angry Birds Seasons [$0.99] offers a ridiculous value proposition. When it was first released it was just a silly spinoff with holiday themed Angry Birds levels. In 2015, it's like having the whole Encyclopedia Britannica set dumped on your doorstep, only Angry Birds level packs instead of books.
