R17: "Splinter Cell: Blacklist is truly a worthwhile, first-rate experience. It has its faults in certain areas, but it is easy to forget them while playing the adventure. Bringing back the classic Spies Vs. Mercs was a wise choice that is sure to please many SP: Conviction alumni. For $60, you are getting an above-average length single player campaign that encompasses a riveting plot and cast. All this, while welcoming gamers of all crowds, whether the stealth or the action player, you will find your niche with open arms. Blacklist is a summer blockbuster with value that will extend beyond the season. This a great addition for the Splinter Cell franchise, and a fantastic Wii U title. A special nod of recognition must go out to Ubisoft for their continued support of Nintendo, and their recognition in the Wii Us potential on the world stage of gaming."

Gabe Gurwin of Tech Heads writes: "With Splinter Cell Blacklist, new studio Ubisoft Toronto sought to have its cake and eat it, too. The game was showcased in trailers and conventions as being open to a diverse range of players, with specific play-styles built both for old-school fans and Conviction players. Every step of the way, it seems that the games development has been met with skepticism, but perhaps against the odds, the team has crafted the most impressive Splinter Cell to date."

iLLGaming writer,S.Arora writes:
"Round 1, I was thrown into a level called Cartel. The brief said that a town fest had seriously gone wrong and two factions were fighting over a piece of intel. I have been away from the Spies vs Mercs mode in Splinter Cell: Conviction for more than two years now and I knew I was losing it already. When I was spawned I could see a whole town magnified in front of me, in the First Person perspective. Of course I was assigned as a heavy duty Merc with a partner, oh I was playing the Classic Spies vs Mercs mode that is brought back into Splinter Cell: Blacklist from its precursor Conviction. I accidentally pressed my Up Arrow key in the PS3 controller and the glowing torch light shut off by its own, leaving me alone in the darkness, as my partner had nearly vanished inside the level. I was scared. Simply because my previous experiences with Splinter Cell: Spies vs Mercs werent that good, as every now and then Id get stabbed from right, left and up...
