From September through until the end of the year the video game release schedule is absolutely rammed with big releases, from the returns of Guitar Hero and Rock Band to the rise of a tomb raider and the end of Hideo Kojima's involvement in the Metal Gear Solid series (we think). We've 'whittled down' the release schedule to thirty one games set for release from 1 September to 8 December

Its unfortunate that back in early 2009 when Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars (SARPBC) released for the Playstation 3 it slipped under my radar. Luckily, and thanks to Playstation Plus, it wound up quickly becoming one of my most favourite games to play for the sheer fun factor.
SARPBCs was confirmed to have a sequel in development a few years later, and was graced with the title Rocket League by same developer Psyonix early 2014. The title is available right now for free through the Instant Game Collection on Playstation Plus (£15.99/$19.99 for non subscribers), and is also available through Steam for PC for £14.99. Rocket League features cross-platform play between PC and PS4 gamers.

Black Ops 2 did a rather strange thing with its campaign that no other Call of Duty has, and its a twist that made it one of my favorite games from the last generation just for the story (that Treyarch multiplayer isnt the only reason I have affection for Blops). Black Ops 2 has a branching plot but not in the normal RPG manner in which the player makes explicit decisions. Its more subtle, and brilliant.
