| Character Growth Dragon Age: Leliana and Morrigan
Added: 11.12.2014 9:21 | 8 views | 0 comments
Crystal Mills from The Koalition writes:
"My love for the Dragon Age series is undoubtedly fueled by the characters. Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age 2 both introduced and fleshed out amazing, complex characters that transcended the usual supporting role in RPGs. Because of this, its really interesting to me to follow them through their growth.
In Dragon Age: Origins, we saw two clashing images between the faith-driven Leliana and the cynical Morrigan. While these traits werent the only existing characteristics (especially if you romanced one or the other) in them, they each had a very defining image that didnt shift too much through the Blight. But now in Dragon Age: Inquisition, a decade after the events of Origins, these two characters have made some pretty major shifts in their thoughts and actions."

VRFocus - It's getting down to crunch time for indie developers Jon Hibbins and Nick Pittom's Crystal Rift, which is now on its final three days of a Kickstarter crowd-funding campaign. The project is within spitting distance of passing its base goal of £4,000 GBP, sitting on £3,636 at the time of writing with the help of 202 backers. In these final days the developer hopes to beat not just this goal but also some of its stretch goals to add more content to the virtual reality (VR) compatible dungeon crawler. As part of its big push, the team has today released an updated demo.

| Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal Review | High Score Reviews

Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal finds itself in an odd place. Despite being a Sonic game, it isnt meant for fans of the series. Fast-paced platforming takes a step back in favor of exploration, familiar characters sport unfamiliar designs, and new developer Sanzaru Games is left in charge.
Its worth noting that both this version of Boom and its Wii U counterpart are meant to help market a new TV show on Cartoon Network. Obviously, the target audience is small children. Still, I cant imagine many kids appreciating Shattered Crystals repetitive gameplay, constant backtracking, or overall blandness.

| EGM Review: Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris
Added: 08.12.2014 15:11 | 13 views | 0 comments
EGM:
"When you have as much history as Tomb Raider, its always a big risk to deviate from the gameplay thats defined the series and helped it last as long as it has. But four years ago, thats just what Crystal Dynamics did when they decided to take Lara Croft out of the third-person action-adventure world and introduce her fans to some old-school, twin-stick-shooter gameplay.
Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light ended up being a huge success as an ancillary adventure, smoothly blending the puzzle-solving from the main series with top-down shooting and co-op. So, its no surprise that while we wait for Laras next big action-adventure, Crystal Dynamics decided to revisit their spin-off and give it a sequel."

| Revenge of the License: A Nightmare on Elm Street

Michael Crisman writes, "I dont know about the rest of you, but the original Nightmare on Elm Street terrified me the first time I saw it, and with good reason. With most horror films, its pretty obvious what you have to do in real life to avoid getting killed. Staying out of Haddonfield, Illinois pretty much insures against meeting Michael Myers. Changing my summer camping destination from Crystal Lake to Literally Anywhere Else means my likelihood of death via machete drops to negligible levels. And if Im terrified Norman Bates will attack me in the shower? Boom! Im a hippie with no running water, so come at me bro! But how do you not sleep? Sleeping is like coming down with the flu or popping boners at inopportune momentsyou can take steps to prevent it, but sooner or later its going to happen. Then its One, two, Freddys coming for you Just like he did in 1989s A Nightmare on Elm Street for PC and Commodore 64."
