Future Gamez: Tomb Raider Review

Added: 01.05.2013 18:21 | 14 views | 0 comments

Future Gamez: Ask any non-gamer to name some video game characters and behind Mario and Sonic it's likely you'll hear the name Lara Croft. After some wonderfully successful games at the turn of the century, the franchise also spawned two successful Angelina Jolie starring feature films. In recent times though the franchise suffered with some poorly received games, but a shift from original developers Core Design in the UK, to American developers Crystal Dynamics saw some improvements, and now, in 2013 the company is completely rebooting the franchise - and it's a bloody fine effort too.

Added: 22.04.2013 22:52 | 15 views | 0 comments

When was the last time you played an MMO JRPG with sprite-based aesthetics and music and sounds that pay homage to Square Soft classics like Final Fantasy VI, Secret of Mana and Chrono Trigger? I can't think of a game like that, but Epic Beyond Studios is aiming to bring that kind of game to Steam's store.

A Pleasant Field With A Sinister Situation: Petal Meadows

Added: 14.04.2013 10:18 | 14 views | 0 comments

BT writes: When we last left our hero in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Mario had visited Rogueport, an off-corner of the Mushroom Kingdom, at the request of Princess Peach. Upon arrival, he naturally learned that she had been kidnapped and he was left to find the Crystal Stars in an attempt to both open the mystical Thousand-Year Door and find Peach along the way. The magical map left by the Princess directed Mario to a pleasant field area branching off of Rogueport called Petal Meadows. This sort of plain grassy field is one of the most common trends in practically any Mario series, always serving as a simple initial area to introduce players to the game and its mechanics without too much challenge to the player. However, Petal Meadows separates itself from the group in many ways, leading to one of the best introduction levels Ive seen in a Mario game.

Alien Spidy Review - Twinfinite

Added: 08.04.2013 15:21 | 0 views | 0 comments

Mike writes, "Alien Spidy tells the story of an adorable little spider from another planet who crash lands onto Earth's surface and navigates a series of levels in three main zones; Forest, Pond, and Crystal Cave, in order to rescue his friend. That's about the extent of the story, and the main focus is on gameplay achievements. One thing that really struck me then and now about Alien Spidy is its fantastic presentation. It's colorful, pretty, and is full of bright power-ups and animations that evoke the glory days of arcades. It also has a bouncy soundtrack that I'm sure has been designed to provide a soothing effect preventing me from throwing my monitor out the window."
