The few hours Asim spent with Ryse: Son of Rome definitely left a far more positive impression of the game from E3 or even gamescom . Its gone from a not interested title to a might pick this up which is a credit to what Crytek has done in terms of improving based on feedback. The visuals are mighty impressive, but only the full game will reveal whether or not it has the substance to go with the style. There was somewhat a basic upgrade and XP system during the time with the game to go along with decent combat system, but didnt have the time to delve into fully. Ryse even features a multiplayer mode too, which has been played very briefly at gamescom. Brief being around 20-30 minutes, not enough really. 22nd November will be time for the full verdict, and hopefully well be there soon after to provide you with ours.

If youre paying attention at all to Microsofts Xbox One launch spread, youve seen Ryse. Its the consoles debut showpiece, the platforms visual pièce de résistance, the thing youre going to fire up and fool around with come Friday, November 22, telling yourself that this, this is why you paid hundreds of dollars for a next-gen system.

ArabicGamers writes: Ryse might just be the best looking game we've ever seen on a console. Developer Crytek has a long history of creating stunning looking titles in the Crysis series, but this really looks a cut above what we've witnessed elsewhere. Lighting reflects off armour beautifully, fire effects are a joy to behold while the art style is simply lovely. If this is what the next-generation is capable of, we're more than happy with the results.
