Game of Thrones Episode 3: The Sword in the Darkness | Game Informer

GI:
In the opening moments of The Sword in the Darkness, the third episode in Telltales six-part Game of Thrones series, Malcolm Branfield grimly eyes a rockslide blocking the only escape route for his traveling companions Asher Forrester and Beskha, and says One wrong move and the whole thing could collapse on us. That line amplifies the feeling of hopelessness for the scene, but more accurately sums up the state of the Forresters in this episode. All across Westeros, situations turn from bad to worse for the family, and the noose tightens around their necks. Nothing I said or did brought reprieve for any of them, just more despair.

Everything youve been fighting for up to this point is finally in front of you. The third episode of Telltales Game of Thrones will decide whether or not you get what you want, and whether or not you need to stop thinking and just start running.
The Sword in the Darkness does an excellent job of mirroring the Game of Thrones HBO series tendency to place a high-tension, high-energy episode smack in the middle of a season. Episode Three never lets you catch your breath; each scene features major choices with consequences that ripple out to this chapter's credits--characters will continue to harp on decisions made early in the episode--and hint at larger problems to come in following episodes.

IGN:
A lot is packed into this eventful two-hour episode of Telltales Game of Thrones. It begins with an action-heavy cameo appearance by one of Daenerys' dragons, then sets Gared on a dangerous path, and sees Mira struggle with multiple layers of intrigue. The cycle of abuse by the Whitehills occupying Ironrath is starting to sound like a broken record, though.

Colm Ahern: "Certain characters are evolving much quicker than others, and for this to have as much punch as the TV show its based upon, it needs a stellar follow up to this average showing."
