News: UK Video Game Chart: BioShock Infinite is No.1 for a third week

Added: 15.04.2013 9:49 | 1 views | 0 comments

Tomb Raider holds at No.2 for a fourth consecutive week.

FIFA 13 moves up one place to No.3, followed by Defiance which slides to No.4 with a 41 per cent drop in sales – 75 per cent of retail sales for the multiplayer action title were recorded on Xbox 360.

There's little change elsewhere in the chart, but LEGO Batman 2 and Far Cry 3 do re-enter the Top 10 at No.9 and No.10 respectively.

Further down the chart WWE 13 makes it back into the Top 40 at No.33, likely thanks to increased interest in sweaty men entertainment because of WrestleMania 29.

Metro: "A mix of low budget, (relatively) high ambition, and mediocre execution, Defiance is a hard game to hate but an easy one to lose interest in."

Thanks to bad server problems and a lack of genuine gameplay and presentation, Defiance feels more like an MM-no than an MMO.

Jeff Ellis: When I was asked to play through Trion Worldss MMORPG...TPS, Defiance, I was admittedly skeptical. The game was developed side-by-side with a SyFy original series of the same name. I have never been a fan of the misspelled channel or anything that it has put out and am not afraid to admit that I went into my playthrough of Defiance with a negative bias and a desire to scoff at everything the game did wrong. Perhaps not so surprisingly for some of you, the game is actually loads of fun and forced me to swallow my sci-fi elitism more times than I care to admit.

TV series about video games usually are not very good, and if it becomes a movie adaptation, oh boy are you in for a treat. So when defiance was announced to be launching along side a TV series and that the game world will have effects on the way the TV series plays out sounded, well It sounded like a mix of a choose your own adventure book, and a tv show based on a video game, which is not very good, but could be amazing.
