Miku Minified in Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX | CriticalIndiegamer

(CriticalIndieGamer) Despite being a Japanese phenomenon, Hatsune Miku, the entirely synthetic vocaloid pop sensation, has only recently set her sights on conquering Western shores. Landing first on PlayStation 3 and Vita, and later hopping over the Atlantic for a performance on Letterman, she appears to be enjoying a surprising amount of mainstream success. With her colourful aesthetic, bouncy synthpop and blue hair rivaled in length only by Marge Simpson, one can only wonder why it took so long to bring Mikus delights to the rest of the world. Project Mirai DX is only the third Miku game to be released in Europe, following up from the Project Diva F games on Playstation 3 and Vita, but it brings some strikingly adorable changes to the series and is sure to cement its popularity outside of Japan.

Despite its issues, One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 on the PlayStation 3 was one of the better musou titles of the last generation, and while its successor doesnt deviate dramatically from the formula established by its highly successful predecessor, thanks to an array of minor technical, structural and artistic improvements, as case could be made for, One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 on the PlayStation 4 being the best musou title ever released.

Despite some irritating quirks - it was harder to navigate than London at rush hour, the real-time aspect was sort of clunky and awkward, and the AI could be frustratingly dim-witted Cyanides 2009 board game adaptation Blood Bowl was actually pretty fun, and packed full of the ridiculous, over-the-top character that makes Warhammer so lovable. Flawed but enjoyable, would be my verdict. From what weve seen from Blood Bowl 2 so far, Cyanide seems to be working hard at remedying some of the most common complaints, and introducing a layer of TV sports channel polish to complement the on-field gore. I grabbed a quick chat with lead game designer Gauthier Brunet, to find out what the team has in store for the upcoming sequel.

Despite a handful of half decent attempts, the last rugby video game that truly captured my imagination was Jonah Lomu Rugby for the original Playstationthe original Playstation! To put that in perspective, Jonah Lomu Rugby was released in 1997 thats 18 years ago. 18 years is a long time to wait for a decent game of rugby, and sadly, that wait is set to continue, as hot on the heels of the rather disastrous Rugby 15, comes the equally terrible, Rugby World Cup 2015, a game that somehow manages to be even worse than the one that preceded it just 8 months earlier.

COG writes - Act of Aggression attempts to breathe some new life into a genre that has largely fallen by the wayside in recent years. Despite the game still being a solid RTS experience it doesnt really bring anything innovative to the table.

NZGamer:
nami have had an interesting year thus far. Alongside announcing plans to focus on free-to-play mobile games, Hideo Kojima is reportedly leaving the company, they cancelled Silent Hills, and are allegedly utilising surveillance to keep an eye on employees. Despite undergoing a period of upheaval, their most recent financial report for the quarter ending June 2015 show increased revenue and profits attributed to investment in mobile gaming. But what does the future hold for a company seemingly hell-bent on turning their backs on the gaming experiences and fans which put them into the financial position they currently enjoy?

| Top 10 Best-Selling Nintendo 64 Games
Added: 13.09.2015 8:17 | 36 views | 0 comments
VGChartz' William D'Angelo writes: "Earlier this week we took a look back at how well the original PlayStation sold, with particular emphasis on the top 10 best-selling games for it. Now its the turn of one of the PlayStation's generational rival, the Nintendo 64.
Nintendo's third console - the Nintendo 64 - was the company's first home console that failed to claim the top spot, and was a partial harbringer of things to come. Despite signalling a decline in Nintendo's predominance within the home console arena, the Nintendo 64 was nonetheless able to sell 32.93 million units lifetime. That makes it the 14th best-selling platform of all time and the 9th best-selling home console.
Looking at the regional breakdown we can see how strong the platform was in North America compared to other regions. Nearly two-thirds of its total sales - 20.11 million units - were accounted for in North America. In Europe it sold 6.35 million units, and in Japan it sold 5.54 million units. Outside o...
