Review: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain - Connected Digital World

Connected Digital World writes: One of my fondest memories of video games was during Metal Gear Solid 4. Me and a friend sat back as I guided Snake through his journey and we enjoyed the narrative unfold before us. We became so engrossed that we finished the entire thing in one sitting. Admittedly the birds were singing and the next day wasnt exactly high energy but we didnt care at all. Its one of those amazing moments of gaming that Ill never forget. So on top of the impossibly high expectations we all have for MGS I have deep personal expectations too. A tough act to follow indeed.

| How to cheaply upgrade your PS4 to 2TB

Digital Foundry:
In our PlayStation 4 hard drive upgrade guide we found that using an SSD delivered the best experience when it came to producing shorter loading times, faster texture streaming, and generally smoother day-to-day operation of the console. However, these gains didn't translate consistently across all titles and in the end we found that the Hitachi Z7K1000 (a 7200rpm 1TB mechanical hard drive) provided us with the best price/performance ratio while also offering up a significant increase in storage capacity over the stock PS4 drive. Right now it costs around £45-£55 and that's pretty decent value for a 7200rpm drive - but the Seagate STBX2000401 and STEA2000400 are 2TB external USB drives available for £60-£65.

| Game Museum The MADE's new Kickstarter
Added: 19.09.2015 21:17 | 85 views | 0 comments
Remember the Kickstarter for The MADE (Museum of Art and Digital Entertainment)? It was one of the first big Kickstarters and a pretty big deal for those of us who know games are more than pixels colliding, but represent a savvy, certain kind of culture, captured in polygon pictures that allow players to talk about simulated adventure stories using I instead of a characters name. What makes The MADE special is its emphasis on helping to expand gamer culture by previously offering free programming lessons and playable exhibitions of historically significant games. These are the guys that helped relaunch the first digital MMO, The Habitat. Now The MADE Kickstarter has a sequel to help them expand their presence in Oakland, California.

| Digital Foundry vs Until Dawn

DF:
Until Dawn is a bizarre concoction, but one that leaves a good lasting impression. It's a sleeper hit with serious tech credentials to start, blending Heavy Rain's branching narrative design with Guerilla Games' latest engine - producing a superb physically-lit woodland and cabin setting. As a PS4 title it's a satisfying visual package, and its legacy on last-gen hardware is rarely on show - that is, outside of some unusual performance levels, suggesting the transition to current-gen hasn't been easy. The game's main disappointment is in its frame-rate, often ticking over at the lower end of the 20-40fps range.

Click here to view original web page at n4g.com Fox, "Yeah but it's giving you a download code. It's them trying to be cheap." Lol, it is not them being cheap. If you haven't already noticed, the main reason why MS is providing the Digital code instead of a physical copy of the game is because the CE is released and customer can pick it up on the 20th of Oct vice the 26th. The code is basically for preloading the game on HDD but won't get activated until the 27th to prevent people from playing it early and post [...]
