Gauntlet: Slayer Edition Review | Digital Chumps

Digital Chumps: So while the game plays as good as it does on PC, I have to admit that the graphics on the PS4 are not as impressive as I hoped for this re-release. That's not to say they're bad or that I experienced technical issues, I did not, but the visual fidelity underwhelms. It's not a major strike against the experience, but it just isn't as polished and visceral as I had hoped being a re-release an coming to PS4. Picture that and now know that LOOT Interactive has created just that game for you.

Digital Foundry: After enjoying a locked 60fps on newer consoles, it's very hard to go back - even if the core feature-set is the same on all platforms. However, the real test of the Fox Engine's scalability lies on PC, a version Konami is working overtime to polish by launch today - with 4K support and added effects promised. Provided it's as neatly optimised as Ground Zeroes on PC, this could well be the definitive release, and we'll be back soon with a full overview of what it brings to the table.
