When Dishonored originally came out in 2012, it was Brett's favorite game of the year. He loved its open sandbox areas, the art style and the creative ways to be an assassin. And now that Dishonored Definitive Edition has been released on PS4 and Xbox One, he was ecstatic to return to Dunwall as Corvo Attano.

KSD writes: Its less than an hour into Dishonored when the game begins to show its true complexity. Having already betrayed, imprisoned, tortured, and freed the player, the game squares away most of the plot and leaves you to the first of a string of assassinations that form the backbone of the game: Dispose of a tyrannical religious elder, and, encouraged by the plea of his niece, save the captain meeting with him. A little eavesdropping later, and you quickly uncover that your target, High Overseer Campbell, plans to poison Captain Curnow, the man you would protect. The stage is set for an almost classical betrayal, a piece of machiavellian theater of the highest order.

It's time to go back to Dunwall and become the supernatural/steampunk assassin Corvo Attano one more time in Dishonored Definitive Edition. As an enhanced version of the hit 2012 game for last-gen consoles, Dishonored brings back its unique take on stealth gameplay told through a first-person perspective. Obviously, this Definitive Edition launched to help get us hyped up for Dishonored 2, but there isn't much here that could be considered new when compared to its original release (especially in regards to the last-gen Game of the Year Edition). Nevertheless, there's still something that's remarkably satisfying about infiltrating an enemy compound with such a variety of ways in dispatching your enemies, whether you're using a crossbow, traps, your sword, your hands, magic or a legion of bloodthirsty rats.

WGTC:
Although it doesnt feel as if so much time has passed, its been almost three years since Dishonored teleported its way onto consoles and PC. Since then, Arkane Studios has been quietly working on a sequel to what was once considered to be a Game of the Year candidate, and is now thought of as one of the best games of the last console generation. That, as well as an updated version of the now-classic stealth title, which has just made its way to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 as Dishonored: Definitive Edition.

MMGN:
With Dishonored Definitive Edition we have a conundrum. Its one of the best last-gen games to get a re-release on PS4 and Xbox One, but its one of the weaker updates, and not actually the definitive edition. At $80 its over priced for a three-year-old game, but its also the best version on PlayStation or Xbox. So for console players, this is the one to play, perhaps after a price drop.
