Microsofts Xbox One remaster of Xbox 360 title Gears of War shoots straight to No.1 this week in the All Formats Top 40. The Xbox One-exclusive is the highest charting title of a number of new releases. Sonys PS4-exclusive survival horror title Until Dawn debuts in second play ahead of Disneys toys-to-life title Disney Infinity 3.0. The latter sold best on Xbox 360, indicating that there's still a sizeable kids and family market yet to upgrade to the new consoles. Meanwhile EAs American Football title Madden NFL 16 launched in fourth place, and in seventh place, Bethesdas remaster of 2012s Dishonored debuts.

At PAX Prime in Seattle, Bethesdas set up a nice little collection of booths; theres one for each of the big games theyre showing here. The Dishonored booth stands out as an unusually posh exhibit on an otherwise crowded and jumbled show floor.

IGN: Corvo and Daud are strong leads too, with an evolving set of supernatural powers that allow them to do things like teleport, slow time, possess other characters and see through walls. Missions accommodate this versatility well, with multiple routes, a whole lot of verticality and countless secrets for those that take the time to explore.

Dishonored is undoubtedly one of gamings greats, fusing stunning first-person stealth gameplay with a gorgeous and original oil-painting art style. The definitive edition brings Corvos mission to the PlayStation 4 and collects all the downloadable content missions to boot but does it do enough to warrant another romp through Dunwall or is this another unnecessary revamp?

There is a lot to like about this game but for me it will always be the game that got me back into first person style games and started me back on the path of really enjoying the genre once again. Dishonored was such an impressive new IP that if I had to pick my game of 2012 it would be very close to the top."
