At E3, there's usually at least one moment where I see something at the corner of the eye and skip it due to time constraints, but deep in the back of my mind, I know it eventually will come raging back to the surface with a vengeance. And this year, that was Bowser and Donkey Kong for Skylanders Superchargers. I'm as surprised by this as you are.

With all the true-to-life franchises on the market, Skylanders had drifted somewhere to the back of the pack and Superchargers' introduction of vehicles was interesting but not as enticing as Disney Infinity, Lego Dimensions, and Nintendo's popular amiibos. Then came the announcement of Dark Bowser and Dark Donkey Kong at Comic-Con, and the news that both Bowser and Donkey Kong will actually make a crossover and function both as an amiibo and as a Skylander. Oh no, it's happening.

After the Skylanders and Disney Infinity fads, I just felt that any form of NFC toy-and-game system were just cash grabbing schemes to get rich quick. In a way, I still do feel like that, considering how much Nintendo is making off of them, fuelled by the lack of supply to meet the demand of the bloody things."

The mechanic of bringing Disney characters to your side as summons like Final Fantasy did with aeons in X is a great way to bring lesser known franchises or films they werent able to bring to the game previously without creating a whole new world. Ill admit that most of these picks are a bit offbeat, but here are the five summons from the House of Mouse that I hope we see in Kingdom Hearts III.

Ben Salter of MMGN: In less than an hour with Disney Infinity 3.0 I destroyed the Death Star in an X-Wing, fought off super battle droids as Yoda, got stuck upside down in a side-scrolling platformer as Inside Outs Sadness, and crashed racing around a Halloween track as Anakin Skywalker. Oh, and I saw the Disney Castle hovering majestically in the background in an extremely brief moment with the new and improved Toy Box. To say I barely scratched the surface would be an understatement.
