Crystal Dynamics has confirmed that their 2013 hit, Tomb Raider, will not be receiving any story-based DLC to coincide with the release of the Definitive Edition or in the future. The team has thrown all of their resources into developing the Definitive Edition for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, in addition to the games unannounced sequel.

Crystal Dynamics firms up next-gen frame rate.

Confirmation follows comments from Crystal Dynamics last month, which said that it was "still optimizing the game for both platforms and will be doing so until we release to manufacturing so that we get the highest performance possible," leading some to believe that the game could render at 60FPS.

But that isn't the case, Amos told Eurogamer, confirming that the game will run at 1080p/30FPS on both platforms.

"We wanted to tell the next big story, not lots of little stories".
Last year's Tomb Raider was a most enjoyable romp, with a whole new Lara and an origin story that freed Crystal Dynamics to do whatever they wanted with the series. When it wound up, fans hoped for more Lara adventures potentially in the form of DLC - yet oddly, all the additional content that did arrive were cosmetic and additions to multiplayer.

GearNuke: "Tomb Raider is getting a sort of a upgrade, re-release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. While Crystal Dynamics claims to have upgraded the graphics along with some character models, it remains to be seen how true their claims really are, especially with respect to the already graphically superior PC release."

GamesRadar - Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition makes Lara's hair look fabulous on next-gen

GamesRadar - Last year's Tomb Raider reboot gave Lara Croft a complete makeover as Crystal Dynamics changed the iconic character from the hardened, busty raider of tombs to a nocent novice adventurer. Now, with the next-gen consoles out in the wild, it seems the developer isn't quite done spiffing up Lara's looks. The PS4 and Xbox One version of the game, called Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, has been completely rebuilt, giving Lara's latest adventure a massive visual upgrade. Lara has an updated in-game model, the environments are much more lush and vibrant, and the improved lighting brings even more life to Yamatai Island's memorable locales.

Talking Point: Will Someone Please Frag Online Exclusive Trophies

Push Square: "We had hoped that the backlash to Tomb Raiders undercooked (and unnecessary) multiplayer mode would have strong-armed adamant creator Crystal Dynamics into reconsidering the upcoming PlayStation 4 ports Trophy roster, but a leaked list detailed late last week has confirmed that the studio paid less attention to the feedback than Lara Croft in a common courtesy class. Unfortunately, its not the only offender. Despite the constant cries of console gamers on forums and in articles just like this, developers continue to attempt to bolster the lifespan of box-checking competitive components by locking a significant portion of digital trinkets behind stagnant online sub-sections. Isnt it time that it stopped, though?"
