Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Review - Alternative Magazine Online

Added: 24.05.2013 14:23 | 10 views | 0 comments

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is a no-brainer in every sense of the word and thats a compliment. If you enjoyed Far Cry 3 or even if you never played it but enjoy first-person shooters in general and love the 1980s be sure to buy this stand-alone expansion pack. The side missions can become repetitive, the blood dragons can be more hassle than theyre worth and the intentionally off-the-wall storyline sags in the middle, but the core story missions will last players anywhere between 4 to 5 hours and are well worth experiencing. In many ways, being based upon Far Cry 3 and limited in scope as DLC is what ultimately drags the game down a notch lets hope for a fully fledged Rex Power Colt video game in the future. Until then, in the words of Dr. Elizabeth Darling: I wanna be blinded with your cyber-love.

Preview: The Last of Us Appears To Succeed Where BioShock Infinite Failed | MercuryNews

By Gieson Cacho Although they may not appear similar on the surface, BioShock Infinite and The Last of Us have a common premise. They put players in the role of men hired to escort their female clients to some far-off destination. In the case of Booker DeWitt, BioShock Infinites protagonist has to ferry Elizabeth away from Columbia and bring her to New York. With Joel from The Last of Us, hes hired to smuggle 14-year-old Ellie away from a militarized quarantine zone amid a world destroyed by a zombifying pandemic. The developers goal for both titles is to get players to genuinely care for their charges, and although BioShock Infinite was a great game, it fell short of that target. You liked Elizabeth but it was hard to bond with her. (The game is much better at creating a provoctive world anyway.) On the other hand, I had the chance to preview two levels last night in The Last of Us, and even without context, Naughty Dog appears to be more successful at building ties among...

Theres a tiny orange box moving around the screen of the PlayStation Vita. Its name is Chris. It is an ordinary square perhaps even less than ordinary. This square doesnt jump very high, cant float and it has largely committed to going through its digital life as a grump. That is, until Chris meets Laura. Laura is afraid of her powers. Laura is also a box a long, rectangular pink-ish box. Five months into 2013 and gamers have already been introduced to a bounty of impressive characters and worlds. Not all have been a success, such as the recent digital interpretations of Kirk and Spock in Star Trek or the thick-skulled gunners of the most recent Dead Space. Others, such as Elizabeth in Bioshock Infinite, brought an emotional center to the usually mechanical first-person shooter genre.

From its onset, BioShock Infinite is a game about a man who seeks to find a girl named Elizabeth and recover her from the flying city of Columbia. That said, it could also be a game about an insatiably hungry man.

How 3D scanning helped create the face of Bioshock Infinites Elizabeth

Added: 06.05.2013 23:17 | 14 views | 0 comments

Since the beginning, BioShock creator Ken Levine has stressed that his goal was to make Elizabeth feel like anything but a video game character. And while half of that effort is good writing and voice acting, the other half is good technology: Elizabeth had to look and act real otherwise, the Bioshock Infinite experience would fall apart. And pulling that off, as you might expect, takes a lot of work.
