'Tales of Phantasia' Review | Touch Arcade
Added: 03.02.2014 19:16 | 5 views | 0 comments
Tales of Phantasia simply isn't very fun to play at this level. The whole monetization into oblivion is pretty upsetting, particularly when you keep in mind that fans of JRPGs on iOS are certainly used to paying premium prices for games, and would likely do so happily for a title of Tales of Phantasia's fame. On another level, it's also very frustrating for Tales fans, because this is only the second English version of the game, and it's inexplicably worse to play than the already-terrible version that was released before on GBA.

Last week Namco Bandai quietly released the English version of classic 1995 JRPG Tales of Phantasia onto iTunes. It's just like the fully-voiced PSP version of the game, only with sloppy touch controls, in-app purchases, fewer save points and an always-online requirement. Can we not do this?
