The short video above was released by Atlus today via its Japanese Youtube account, though fans have correctly identified the game announcement as Etrian Odyssey V.
You won't find more than a fans logo sequence and a shot of the world, though it looks decidedly vibrant and far reaching. We have little else to go on, though Atlus does provide a home page for the title. We'll watch the site for more and continue our coverage of Atlus games with Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth, out this week.

| Paste Magazine - Persona Q Review: A Different Kind of Odyssey

Paste Magazine - Etrian Odyssey was always a punishingly difficult game, but it was also fundamentally lovelybeautiful forest settings with retro FM-style music, player-chosen portraits designed by Yuji Himukai, and a minimal story that encouraged player imagination. Persona Q doesnt really have any of that, aside from the character designs by Yuji Himukai which are so, so cute. But it does have Personas signature music and cute and silly conversations between the characters, so in a lot of ways it actually does capture that same sort of charming low-stakes feeling between the exacting dungeons. Its an energetic game, but its a game thats about having fun, and the characters are clearly having a lot of it. Its infectious!

If fan service were a genre, Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth could be considered its pinnacle.
Not content to be just a spin-off or even "just" Persona's first entry on the Nintendo 3DS Persona Q is a mashup of Atlus' much-loved role-playing series and the teeth-gnashing complexity of the dungeon crawling Etrian Odyssey franchise. It doesn't end there: The game also alters time itself to throw together the characters of Persona 3 and Persona 4 in the middle of their respective stories.

What do you get when you cross Persona with Etrian Odyssey? A pretty great RPG apparently.
