Firmware 1.70 serves up a whole bunch of exciting additions for the PlayStation faithful, the first of which is SHAREfactory, a "new rich video editor app for PS4 that makes it easy for you to customize your gameplay videos." Sony details PS4 digital preloading, video editing, and HDCP off features coming in 1.70 update Added: 17.04.2014 11:30 | 0 views | 0 comments The PS4 1.70 update will allow you to preload games purchased digitally, meaning you won't have to miss out on valuable gaming hours downloading a new title on launch day. These games will unlock on the day of release, as you might expect, and each game will have its own countdown so you know exactly when you'll be able to boot it up for the first time. There's also going to be SHAREfactory, which will allow you to apply basic edits to your Share button antics, and apply commentary or on-screen text. You'll also be able to import your own music for your videos. Edited videos will also be able to be exported to a USB drive, Sony says. Then if you pop that drive into your computer, it shouldn't be too much effort to upload it to YouTube, if that's what you're after--you can still only upload your clips directly to Facebook via the PS4 itself right now. As previously announced, the PS4 1.70 system update will also allow you disable HDCP on your games, allowing you to pass the signal through an external capture device (such as an Elgato) and edit them yourselves. There's no release date yet, but Sony says it will be coming soon. Sony also released a new trailer for SHAREfactory, allowing you to have a look at how the new app will work:
