Civilization: Beyond Earth Lego Set Could Become a Reality With Your Help

Before Lego brick designers will consider the project, however, it needs to attract 10,000 supporters. Just two days after being published, Clark's design has 550 supporters. The campaign closes in one year, so there is still plenty of time for that tally to grow.

The minifigure you see in the Civilization: Beyond Earth Worker Mech set is based on a worker who, among other things, builds quarries and digs mines using a front-end loader. The set, if approved, would include one minifigure (with an optional female head), one front-end loader mech, a Firaxis sticker for the bucket, and printed instructions. There would be 187 parts in all.

"A big shout-out to all the folks at Firaxis who kept the secret and helped collate the parts correctly in each set," Clark wrote. "It's great to work for a company that buys you Lego as a present!"
