Assassin's Creed Unity - Xbox One Review | Chalgyr's Game Room
Added: 09.12.2014 14:11 | 4 views | 0 comments
Chalgyr's Game Room writes:
Assassin's Creed: Unity is Ubisoft's first foray into next generation-only territory with the Assassin's Creed franchise and while it has been met with plenty of criticism, their push into next-gen territory is not a wholly unpleasant experience. Following the steps of Arno during the French Revolution, you will take on your old nemesis the Knights Templar through a memory-diving device called Animus created by Abstergo Industries. As you go "back in time," you will be tasked with preventing (or accomplishing) the bad guys from doing bad things, which is pretty typical. For those new to the series, which would be no small feat, you will be free-running through a densely populated Versailles and Paris, brushing up against dozens upon dozens of people as you work to chase down targets or escape the ever-present and extremely vigilant guardsmen. Putting aside the initials troubles that Unity had which were largely addressed by a nearly-1GB patch.

Amanda French writes: "In my review of Lords of Xulima, I left out a major part of my experience due to a lack of immediate relevance. Were the PC and Mac versions stable at the time of my review? Yes, and I stand by my positive verdict of the game. But at the games official release, I was horrified to discover that the Mac version was, in my opinion, borderline unplayable!"

| The Representation of Paris in Video Games

Scott Russell writes: "Paris is wonderful, artistic, grandiose, and many other flattering and applauding adjectives... However, video games seem to represent it in a scene of violence, grotesquery and downright dangerousness. With the recent release of Assassin's Creed Unity, this representation has grown as the titular hero, Arno, deals bloody justice in the midst of the French Revolution. In light of this, I have sought to examine the use of the city in various games, and illustrate how developers seem to paint it with a blood-splattered brush."

| Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric (Wii U) Review - Cubed3

Cubed3:
"The multimedia institution known as Sonic the Hedgehog has gone through various changes over the years, despite Sonic never really leaving the "in your face attitude" era of the 90s. Sonic has had varying success with comic books and even animated television series, whether it is the fan-favourite "Sat-AM" Sonic cartoon or the obnoxious antics of the "The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog," the permutations and variations of Sonic's formula continued in the likes of Sonic X and Sonic Underground. Kids just still can't get enough of the character, even today when SEGA has partnered with a French CG animation team to develop the fifth Sonic TV series. Sonic has been around TV so much, sometimes people may forget he had his beginnings on the Mega Drive/Genesis. The style of Sonic Boom is very different from what many fans of Sonic would be used to."
