"We could force it down player's throats, if we wanted to," says Ghost producer.
By its own admission, EA didn't quite hit the ground running on Xbox 360. As EA Games label boss Frank Gibeau recalled last year, the publisher was slow to nail down the technology necessary to capitalise on trends like HD and online console multiplayer. Gibeau is adamant, however, that this won't happen again on Xbox One and PS4. EA has spent the past few years converting DICE's Frostbite engine from a platform for Battlefield games to an all-purpose, cross-gen and multiplatform blockbuster monster, as comfortable rendering a fireball spell in Dragon Age: Inquisition on Xbox One as recreating a helicopter crash in Battlefield 4 for Xbox 360.

Senior producer discusses frame rate, resolution and "evocative" sunrises.
Need for Speed: Rivals developer Ghost Games hasn't struggled to get any particular tricks of technology working on next generation consoles, according to senior producer Jamie Keen - thanks to both the bump in hardware horsepower and the user-friendliness of DICE's all-purpose Frostbite 3 engine, the studio feels it has put together an "unrivalled game experience". Did you see what they did there, and so forth.

OXCGN: Last week EA Australia held a hands on event for their latest entry into the Need for Speed franchise, Rivals. Unfortunately, we weren't able to attend how ever we did manage to nab a phone interview to make up for our lack of attendance.
I had the chance to speak to James Mouat lead designer over at Ghosts Games on Rivals and spoke a little bit about the 20th entry into the series. Using Frostbite Engine 3 to power the game and what players can get themselves ready for when they either play as a cop or a racer.
Need for Speed: Rivals is out on the 21st of November for the 360 and PS3, however as the Xbox One and PS4 are right after, if youre buying the new next-gen console definitely purchase that version of the game.

Off-screen footage taken at Finnish show DigiExpo.
The footage was captured at Finnish show DigiExpo, and has actually been on YouTube for over a week without being removed.
It's believed the pre-alpha gameplay is the same content shown to press back in August, which at the time was running on a high-end PC with an Xbox controller.
Dragon Age: Inquisition is being developed at BioWare Edmonton and Montreal studios using Frostbite 3. The game is scheduled to launch in autumn 2014 for PC, Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360 and PS3.

Can you see the difference?
The two videos show the kind of visuals players can expect from either version, although the different scenes shown make it difficult to compare directly.
EA has also yet to confirm whether there will be differences in native resolution between the two versions, as there is in Frostbite 3-shooter Battlefield 4.

| Review: Battlefield 4 Is Evolution And Refinement At Its Best [eGamer]

From eGamer, "Battlefield 4 (BF4) builds upon the foundations laid down in Battlefield 3 (BF3) improving the game in all of its elements with immense destruction, vehicular combat, gunfire and added polish with the Frostbite 3 engine. In some ways, it's more of the same. However, it is far more refined and goes down well with a good meal of explosive combat".

"What better way to usher in a new generation of gaming consoles than with a Battlefield title? DICE have offered up Battlefield 4 as a launch game on the next gen systems and its running on their brand new Frostbite 3 engine. They say they have improved the single player campaign as well as their popular multiplayer but are these changes a big leap forward for the series; or is this just a rehash of some old ideas while shooting down wave after wave of enemies?"
