DICE's Star Wars shooter to get another public showing next month.

"Frostbite 3 and the associated development tool set that comes with that has [meant] the team has been able to iterate and drive innovation very quickly and get to a high quality quickly and certainly," said CEO Andrew Wilson during EA's financial briefing last night. New Battlefield to be shown off next month?

The game will run on Frostbite 3, although EA remains coy on whether it'll be a new Battlefield shooter or something else. Whatever it is, EA says it's "very, very excited" about it.

It was rumoured earlier this year that EA was preparing to release a new Battlefield title this autumn, with Dead Space developer Visceral Games reported to be working on a police-themed spin-off in conjunction with Ghost Games UK.

EA's E3 press conference takes place at 8pm BST on June 9.
