| Lego Dimensions: Dr Who joins Portal, The Simpsons, Jurassic World and more

So far only a few Lego Dimension sets and characters have been officially announced but that hasn't stopped numerous leaks giving the game away. It's mostly been official sources too like Walmart and Lego's own site. So far names outed include Portal, Dr Who, The Simpsons, Jurassic World and Scooby Doo. There's also Lord of the Rings, Back to the Future, DC comic universe and Ninjago that have been officially revealed.
Here's all the sets we know about so far, officially revealed or other wise.
Dr Who is the latest leaked Lego Dimensions level pack, along with further confirmation for the Portal 2 set previously leaked by Walmart. Lego itself leaked with via a now removed instruction PDF for the Back to The Future level pack.
The same Back to The Future instruction sheet has also given us our first look at the Simpsons level pack. Level packs include additional playable content as well as the figures themselves.
Lego Jurassic World and Scooby Doo also appear in Lego Dimensions via these team packs, so that's playable characters without additional level content.
These Lord of the Rings fun packs, including Legolas, Gimli and Gollum are part of what's been officially announced. I know, it's confusing.
The Krusty Simpsons fun pack in the bottom left so far doesn't seem to have been announced officially yet. Neither has what looks like Hawkman from the DC Comics Universe. The Wicked Witch, Unikitty and the rest have though.
Here's the original Walmart listing for a Lego Dimensions Portal Level Pack. The page has now been removed but a cached version existed for a while afterwards.
There's no official Portal Lego yet, this and the main image are from a previously proposed Lego Ideas project that gained 10,000 supporters but ultimately wasn't chosen to be made into a real life set.
Another Walmart listing outed a Jurassic World Team Pack, which is the game's name for playable character sets without additional level content.
Lego Jurassic World already has plenty of real life Lego on the way, and its own game. That's probably why it's a "Team Pack" only, with no additional level content. Yet.
Some of the new Lego Dimensions level and fun packs have been leaked or further clarified thanks to the instructions to the Back To The Future level pack which briefly appeared on Lego's own site. It's since been removed.

| Filmmakers Still Dont Understand Video Games
Added: 09.05.2015 5:17 | 8 views | 0 comments
Vice: Video games have cameoed in movies and television to great effect in the past. Think of Wild Gunman in Back to the Future II, or fictional titles like the Mortal Kombat-aping Bonestorm in The Simpsons and Red Dwarf's virtual reality nightmare, Better Than Life. Before you head to the comments to tell me I "forgot" Scott and Knives acing Ninja Ninja Revolution, or David OReilly's potty mouthed NPC in Her, or Big's The Cavern of the Evil Wizard, I really haven't. I just don't have all day to draw you up a list of this stuff when there's dozens of such pieces online already.
Besides, that's not the point here. The point is that movies, and TV, explicitly based on video game franchises have not only been historically balls, but they're not showing any real signs of change for the better.
