Push Square: "GRID Autosport is a definite improvement over last years disappointing entry, and a good racing game in its own right. However, despite the titles wealth of content, decent artificial intelligence, and sometimes quite stunning visuals, it feels like a souped up version of GRID 2, rather than a brand new model. Codemasters is definitely moving in the right direction, but this franchise still has a few more mile markers to pass before it escapes from the shadow of the outstanding entry that got it off the starting line."

With this years GRID Autosport, Codemasters has promised to return to its simulation roots and it does just that, for the most part at least. GRID Autosport is somewhat of a cross between a simulator and an arcade racer and thats a good thing. Code Masters has done an excellent job of combining the arcade racing elements of previous GRID games, as well as incorporating the simulation elements of other racers such as Grand Turismo. Fans of previous GRID games, namely Grid 2, will be pleased to see that the popular flashback feature has been included into GRID Autosport. For those who dont know, the flashback feature allows the player to rewind the race for a couple of seconds in case they spun out trying to take a corner head-on.

Codemasters has established itself as the creator of real racing games, with a history spanning back almost 20 years. As such, it should be the best placed developer to draw on the wide range of global motorsport activities.
