GRTV talked to Mortal Kombat X creative director Ed Boon about the new game.
The main thing that we want to do is introduce new things, new features, new gameplay elements to the mix," says Boon. "This Mortal Kombat we're introducing more new characters than we have before. Now normally I would be just chilling back on my couch with my controller expecting to do some flashy Arcade-style racing like GRID 2 was pulling, well I assumed wrong....waaaay wrong! It seems CodeMasters got serious and took it back a notch away from all the mundane arcade racing and went full force technical simulation style. And when I mean technical, I'm talking about knowing your gear ratios, your suspensions, your braking, speed levels, your tires, and etc! You will be getting back learning to tune your car. And I like it, and it's about damn time! It's been a long time since I had to be very serious in a racing game and try to have a real sense of driving with precision and techniques. Hell I even dusted out my old Logitech G25 steering wheel and it gotten even more fun. And yes they brought back the cockpit view this time!

Racing alongside a teammate, you must overcome key rivals and satisfy team sponsors in ferocious races where every pass and position counts. In a huge career, specialise in your favourite racing discipline or conquer them all feel the aggression of the pack in Touring Cars, manage tyre wear and race into the night in Endurance events, race Open-Wheel cars with precision, show car control in Tuner events and react on the fly in Street races.

PSLS - The racing genre is always a difficult one to pin down, especially as its fan base is as hardcore as they are varied in what brings them to the track. Thankfully, a series that has made its mark in bringing experienced and inexperienced drivers to the circuit is back with a new game thats even more expansive than the last. But, sadly, while Codemasters GRID Autosport is an advancement for the series on some levels, a number design of decisions have made the experience more of a real life endurance run in patience than a weekend get away at the track.
